in response to reader comment: A Love Affair With GOP Romney/Ryan

Oh my! It takes a real prophet to prejudge a Romney Administration by misrepresenting political history with a Democratic Party back assward bias all to bulk up the fantastic achievements of the Obama Administration. How about Carter's anti-Semitism and Clinton's do nothing policy on Iraq and Iran. Think they may have played their part in all this... history? I'm always amazed by how Democrats assert that they are never responsible for American governance while claiming the political high ground.

History is full of American failed foreign policy. If that's your focus but, it's not all failed policy. And the history of failed policy goals seem fairly evenly spread across Party lines.

I don't know how history will judge Obama's policy on the Middle East but, as to the current effect Obama certainly hasn't moderated the extremism in any measurable way. Iraq and Afghanistan are still on-going hot spots. Pakistan is getting hotter. Yemen is far from secure. Syria is in a melt down and Egypt is as close to being under the thumb of Iran as it can get with the political and military connections between the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah and the Iranian Quds Force.

Of course I understand how after four years in office Obama and his acolytes are still casting around for someone to blame. Obama has been blaming someone else for what he has done or hasn't done since day one. Seems like that strategy might get him four more years but, with a small scattering of Democratic Party members in Congress to talk to. Seems like the American people are electing a Congressional bulwark against more of the change they could never believe in. Any re-election of Obama is going to be one empty gesture of ineffectiveness. Again, of course, you'll have the GOP to blame for not rubberstamping the Obama Federalist big government agenda.
