I point out the rousing speeches and their cumulative effect on the2008 election of Obama. His undeniable charisma and talent at rousing audiences were a major factor in his being elected. He was what everybody wanted because he told everybody what they wanted to hear. Everybody- even contradicting himself from one day to the next (as he did at AIPAC). He is a master PR man and he knows that retractions and corrections don't get printed on the front page.

Unless there were other reasons for his election, and that is possible, given the anti-Bush climate and the historical landmark of a black President (although he is not actually appropriate in that category). I hope I do not get attacked for being racist for saying that. If only the liberals could realize that they set the stage when they select people based on their race gender or color rather than their ability. When they are the ones voting by skin color and not by character or ability. (Wasn't it MLK who said that man should be judged by the content of his character?)
