USA's past romances

Reader comment on item: Cyprus on the World Stage

Submitted by L. Manohar (Germany), Oct 12, 2011 at 04:11

It was USA that strengthened Turkey in the name of anti-communism. Turkey is known to be an imperialist and ethnofascist nation and people since a 1000 years. But rabid anti-communism had blinded the USA in the past. In the name of this rabidity USA ended up strengthening ethnofascists (turks, arabs, pakistanis etc.) and obscurantists in the entire muslim world. Today islam and muslims have become the bigger enemies of freedom, human rights and USA than what the communists ever were. Even now USA has not woken up to this reality and continues to have romances with muslims and islam.
