Hi JenReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Catherina (Bahrain), Aug 22, 2011 at 06:37 I understand what you have gone through. i brought my kids up in a hell house and we were lucky we were not killed too. He threatened many times for no reason. Your mum is very brave and I admire her for leaving him. I had to stay as he threatened me and said he would takle out a fatwa on my life. I was scared. I took him to court but the courts here in the Middle East have little or no respect for woman especially foriegn. We have hardly any rights. I found it difficult to even find a lawyer to support me as I was the one instigating the divorce. I am now in the process of divorce but it is expensive. I could not leave the Middle East as my job is here and I dont have property or money anywhere else. He made sure of that and he also made sure that I spent all my money. I will be moving into my flat soon and I hope my life will change but I know he will make life so difficult for me and my kids.
