A Scary Thought
Reader comment on article: Arafat's Last Threat to Israel?

Submitted by Peter J. Herz (Taiwan), Nov 9, 2004 at 08:26

While I see no eschatological/redemptive significance to the re-establishment of Israel, I do think that there is something more frightening going on on the other side of the green line in the Holy Land.

Many Falastin Arabs have been claiming to descend from the Canaanites--even though both Bible and Qu'ran clearly state that the Arabs descend from Ishmael. I sometimes, with fear and trembling, wonder that this appropriation of a Canaanite identity has not brought down a divine curse on the Falastin Arabs. I shudder when I think of how they, like the ancient Canaanites, immolate their own children (suicide bombers). Neither the Arafat "mainstream" of the PLO nor the Hamas-type Islamofascists seem to have any vision for what a peaceful River-to-Sea Falastin would look like apart from No JOOOOOOZ Allowed. Perhaps this is why this population can come up with absolutely nothing constructive for this situation.

By the way, some are saying that Arafat exhibits AIDS-like symptoms. Is there any truth to this rumor?
