Pakistani MenReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Samantha (United States), Jul 16, 2010 at 21:25 Do you want to know about Pakistani men? Firstly, Pakistanis are Muslim. The men can take up to four wives. Their culture places little, if any, value on women who are considered to be the property first of the father, then secondly of the husband. If the husband and father are dead, she's then under the control of a son or uncle. Once married, most pakistani wives "disappear" into the house which becomes their world. You may be his peer, but that's just about where the similarities stop. They, too are womanizers, so marrying a Pakistani man is tantamount to giving ownership of yourself to this man. Just like their Arab counterparts, they will lie to get what they want and in the long run, you're really nothing to them simply because you are a woman. Their word means nothing. Pakistanis are ruled by Sharia Law so women are subject to great brutality. Honour killings are not uncommon. Last year, a Pakistani man buried alive his daughter, along with his wife, because the daughter was protesting his choice of husbands. Last year, a Pakistani man cut off the foot of his wife to prevent her from going to the neighbours house ... he'd asked her several times prior to not go. If that's not bad enough, another very common way that Pakistani men deal with disobedient women is to throw acid in their face. Sometimes, the in-laws are a part of this brutality. If you have any doubts about the validity of these stories, feel free to google them, I'm sure you can find the articles if you look long enough. I have provided you with a link in regards to the acid attacks which picture 12 women who are permanently mangled by acid. Take a look, and don't let anyone tell you that it's more a problem that occurs in the rural areas, it is not. The women in the cities may have it slightly better, but they too are subject to the very same abuses. Also, you may want to google honour killings and acid attacks committed by Pakistanis in the UK. Some interesting stuff there, too. If you value your freedom and integrity, look elsewhere for love. http://blogs.tampabay.com/photo/2009/11/terrorism-thats-personal.html Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
