I missed seeing this on TV even though I watch lateline quite often, but after reading this transcript I am quite happy that someone has told it to the Australian people the way it really is. After pulling my hair out every other night when they bring out another 'academic expert' preaching about how Arafat has no control over terror, or some other piece of rubbish send by some ignorant correspondant reporting from the middle east, it was good to know that Mr. Pipes has taught Tony Jones a thing or two.

I hear and read a lot of stuff and Daniel Pipes is by far the best at person to succinctly putting forward views which are both important and insightful. He highlighted most of the necessary points for most Australians to try to understand the ramifications of what is going to unfortunately involve us eventually. I am lucky enough to live at the bottom of the world (Melbourne) but I truly realise the threat we face. I sincerely hope your 5 minute piece will wake up us Australian's from our snooze, and I hope it doesn't require a mega-attack for this to happen.

Tony Jones is one of those TV anchors who drive me absolutely crazy. They don't mind if the questions asked to a palestinian representative, is never answered but instead used as a launching pad for another round of the blame game.

i.e. "Mr Erakat, is your PA funding terrorists and not sticking to demands to fight the terrorists as per the Oslo accords your leader signed?"
Erakat or some other lackey -> "Don't look at us, it's the occupation, settlements, Israel, occupation, settlements, Israel! Not Us!"

Also Mr. Tony Jones mistakenly stated that the USS Cole incident was in Saudi Arabia, when it was actually Yemen. Also, it shows how little the average news reporter pays attention to history, not even knowing that over 200 marines were killed in Lebanon, let alone the embassy bombings which happened before the Cole.
