Islam is not a religion, an ideologyReader comment on item: Analyst Calls for Redefinition of 'War on Terror' Submitted by Ravi (Republic Of Korea), Aug 9, 2002 at 08:25 You stated...DANIEL PIPES: Militant Islam is of modern phenomenon a twentieth century phenomenon that basically originates in the 1920s, the era of totalitarian enthusiasm, the era when fascism got going, Leninism got going, so did militant Islam. Response: The moment Islam originated, the militant islam also originated. With terrorism as a weapon, the islam was spread. Only, during that time nobody coined this new word "militant islam". It doesnt have new dates like 1920s. I agree there are moderate muslims. They are moderate because they know the value of their lives. They are keeping quite because they are afraid "right now". But give them a chance to be powerful... Best Wishes Ravi Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
