Cheer UpReader comment on item: Iraq's Cosmetic Election Submitted by Wayne Lucas (United States), Mar 9, 2010 at 12:08 The only thing we can hope for, then, is to continue these kept institutions until the populations have experienced enough freedom and opportunity that they will fight for themselves to keep it. I believe the US should continue backing these countries in order to prevent the jihadists from taking over. It is in our interest. We have to come to grips with this reality and accept it. If it takes another decade of support, than so be it. It will be worth it, because the alternative is totally unacceptable.
