Good reason to be despondent... Iraqi cities will burn and we will abandon her, says prophet Jeremiah

2,600 years ago, Hebrew prophet Jeremiah wrote, "(Babylon's) high gates will be set on fire, so the peoples will toil for nothing, and the nations become exhausted (because of the) fire," (Jer 51:58).

And out of that frustration the nations will say, "We applied healing to Babylon, but she was not healed; forsake her and let us each go to his own country, for her judgment has reached to heaven," (vs. 9).

So Obama's "hope" will be fulfilled -- U.S. troops will come home months earlier than planned. In failure at reconstruction. Then the real doom begins for Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans.
