Thanks for sharing, and yes 52 years is a long time.

However, note the following:

1) Many of the relationships are on-line. The internet did not exist 52 years ago, and it was a different era. Most people would have balked at the idea of marrying, say, a pen-pal.

2) It sounds like you were able to see your man in person in a common environment. That is not the case with almost all of the stories on here. Some of the women on here see their man every other month. That is not sufficient for a stable relationship or to know him. In fact, not knowing their man is why so many posters are uncertain. They simply cannot obtain the information they need.

3) People who post on this blog are pretty much always searching for answers for their relationship on the internet. That tells me not all is well. You even say yourself "it's not all that bad". The sense of your wording does trouble me because "not all that bad" in English does not mean really good.
