Hello Mary

welcome, you don't say how you met this guy or how long you have known him? If like you say this is a new relationship then to be thinking about marriage and visa at this stage would be a huge red flag to me. Also he is asking you to convert to his religion, this is a very serious step in life and you must research the religion fully to understand what your role will be as a wife if you decide to go ahead with this, You are a canadian citizen so wherever you live in India or Dubai he knows he will have a chance to live in canada some day, you have to invite him to stay in canada and you will be totally responsible for him financially during his stay. If there is an age difference too then I would be very wary. I would get to know him more before commiting to marriage at this stage, if he is happy to accept this then that is a good sign, if you feel he is pressuring you then I would say its a scam. Read the stories on here and decide for yourself, but don't let the sweet words etc fill your head with unrealistic idea's, imagine what life with this man would be like under islamic law, women are property of their man whatever he tells you, just dont rush into marriage, not at this early stage
