The Palestinians won't even yield to the extent sought in the speech

Dr Pipes,

I think you're being a little too critical of Mr Netanyahu. I believe he's pragmatic enough to know that he needed to be conciliatory, and he needed to advance conditions for peace that are ENTIRELY reasonable. In terms of accurately defining positions, the effectiveness of the speech will be evident in the Palestinian response to it: they will not comply -- even to simple conditions laid out in the speech.
