Bibi is not weak.
Reader comment on item: Assessing Binyamin Netanyahu's Speech at Bar-Ilan University

Submitted by batya dagan (United States), Jun 14, 2009 at 22:41

I had the pleasure of hearing the speech on the Israeli channel on my TV.I did not run into a feeling of weakness at all.I saw a strong and resolute Bibi saying all the right things ,things that ensure Israel's safety and survival.True , I cringed when he mentioned -just once- a "Palestinian state"but he immediately made sure that we are talking about an un armed state,no army and no air space to threaten Israel's security.Furthermore , he demanded that the US will guarantee the safety of Israel when this state will come about.

Bibi's so called weekness needs to be cleared. In his previuos cadence as a PM Bibi was called by Clinton to Washinton where Clinton demanded that he will leave Hebron. He could not do it because every bone in his body was against it .His followers certainly did not want such a horror to happen.Clinton knew all this and used it to destroy him.The story that circulated was that Clinton told him that if he will not leave Hebron the US will vote against Israel in the UN.What Clinton wanted was to break Bibi down , to get the public to detest him- see him as week and pliable- and his rightist government to fall.

All of this did happen.Clinton got the lefty Barak to go along with his peace plan.Lucky for all of us the other peacenik,Arafat , had plans of his own.He played the game for as long as he could while preparing an intifada and then - puff, the 97 percent Barak was giving him was not as good as being a terrorist king ruling over a terrorist mud hole.

Netanyahu was not weak .Clinton was evil. Clinton blackmailed him.A similar story has been circulating again. The same people who advised Clinton to break down Bibi the first time decided to do it again. They knew that he was not weak .They knew that He could not afford not to have the US on Israel's side in the UN.They knew that what they did to a friend is beyond awful but , what can we do , all is fair in war and politics.

I thought that the speech was very good .I even liked it when he asked the Palestinians to stop the incitement against Israel. For all I know , of all the things Netanyahu asked them to do this is the hardest one.
