Not hopefulReader comment on item: Islamic Law Rules In Iraq Submitted by brad bucher (United States), Mar 3, 2004 at 08:39 The challenge you mention in the final paragraph seems an impossible one. We were naive to think we as infidels could change significantly the profound hold of medieval Muslimism in Iraq. Even to make a beginning will require a strong military and political presence for a long time, and even then the best result will be to use the country as a lever to move those nearby. Iran is our best next target. When we withdraw from Iraq the terrorists and mullahs will take control and the country will split into three parts.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
