In my opinion we have made the first step towards another Iran. The purpose of going into Iraq was to end environments which produce 9/11. Sistani, who we are trying to appease, ascribes every negative event to the US. As usual we depreciate our allies (Kurds)while appeasing our enemies(radical muslims). War is not about winning hearts and minds. War is about the unconditional defeat of the enemy. After that is accomplished winning hearts and minds can be attempted, like the Marshall Plan.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
