Reader comment on item: Islamic Law Rules In Iraq

If the object of US actions in Iraq is anything but long term occupation, there is no basis upon which to dictate what law the Iraqis choose for themselves. Sharia may not be your cup of tea, but it does not seem reasonable to me to suppose that a Shi'a majority country would not base it's laws on it's religious principles. Another planning failure .
