A "Real" NIE is Needed

Reader comment on item: That NIE Makes War against Iran More Likely

Submitted by Ronald Zond (United States), Dec 14, 2007 at 11:21

The NIE was (supposedly) written by former State department people with an axe to grind, therefore, it is not intelligence. Supposedly, we have no first party " humint" in the area, which makes any subsequent NIEs suspect.

I keep thinking that that this is a red herring (disinformation) to prevent action against Iran's nuclear ambitions. Regardless of whether or not Bush cut a deal with Tehran, the regime will have nuclear weapons in a very short time. It appears that the Israelis will have to be our eyes and ears, as they have in the past.
