"Social Work"Reader comment on item: Saddam's Damn Dam [i.e., The Mosul Dam] Submitted by M. Bouffant (United States), Nov 9, 2007 at 03:08 This entire adventure was social work, an attempt to rescue the Iraqis from abusive parent/spouse Saddam Hussein. Or was it the imaginary weapons of mass destruction? Either way, now it's an occupation, not a war, an effort to establish a "shining beacon of democracy" for the Middle East. That means "social work." Every atrocity committed by Blackwater, every slight to an Iraqi by an American soldier or Marine places America at greater risk, because it makes another terrorist/insurgent sympathizer. Remember "you break it, you bought it?" We're responsible now, we "own it." If the puppet gov't. we installed can't fix it, & we won't because it's "social work," we rightfully should be blamed. And do tell us what we should be doing other than "social work?" ... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
