Arab residence in East Jerusalem

Israel already restricts Palestinian residence in east Jerusalem, and has since 1967. No Arab may live in Jerusalem without an Israeli Jerusalem ID card which is only granted to Palestinians whose families were in residence in east Jerusalem in 1967. Also, in order to try and reduce the Palestinian Jerusalem population, Israel revokes the residence permit if they leave the city for more than six months. Thousands of Palestinian have lost their right to live in the city over the years but the population continues to grow due to a relatively high birthrate. Thus, unless Israel pursues a policy of outright expulsions, the population will continue to grow.
