Who knows what Iraqi are capable of?

Reader comment on item: A Strongman for Iraq?

Submitted by Sally (United Kingdom), Apr 30, 2003 at 09:42

Who knows what the people of Iraq are capable of ? I believe it's a load of trash, all this waiting 20 years stuff. People respond immediately to repectful and fair government, when they themselves participate in its creation.

America should get itself a proper democracy first, before lavishing 'expertise' on other countries. When someone can be placed in high authority by 'appointment of judges' based on pieces of crumpled cardboard, then that needs addressing.
