Islam is behaving like any other religion would

... I am not a Muslim, in fact I'm a Zoroastrian, the same people who were buthchered by the Muslims centuries ago. The Islamic religion, and its people are going through a transformation today, the younger generation is leaning towards a more secular understanding of the world. I'm am not at all in anyway condoning the atrocities committed by Muslims, but there have been a countless number of atrocities committed by others of different religions.

Christianity slaughtered Jews and Muslims during the crusades, does that mean it is a dangerous religion? The Spanish Inquisition, the conquests of the Mayan Empires, these were all acts committed in the name of Christianity. The Mongols, who exterminated 35 million Chinese peasants, were buddhists, who destoryed the entire Middle East, and got as far into Poland, and sacked Kiev. Just because they were buddhist, does that mean that buddhism is evil?

It is not the fault of only Islamic teachings, as proclaimed on this site, there are a countless number of factors.... I used to hold extreme hate and prejudice against Islam, for the very fact that they almost annihilated my religion, but that does not mean others have.

Instead of coming to rash judgements, we as human beings must observe. As an Indian-Canadian, I have come into contact with Pakistanis, we speak the same language and share the same foods, the only difference being that they are Muslims. They are good people, of noble character, most of them, yet there are the few fanatics, who I despise.

What I'm trying to say, is that Muslims are human beings as well, who need to be listened to. A billion people cannot be ignored. And that their religion isn't the only one that has committed crimes against humanity.
