I wish there were more of us

I am a female, born in a Muslim syed family in a country whose president declared it to be the "Fort of Islam". I grew up watching my uncles and aunties never praying, nor fasting or doing anything that would label them as Islamic.

Things started to change however after 1978. The gradual Islamization of Pakistan has had a profound impact on my family members. All of them have become totally muslims and are not even ready to listen to any other argument againts their evolving belief system. They are all educated and have more than bachelor's degree education but still the process of islamization has blocked their ability of think critically and to self evaluate certain historical facts.

I openly challenge their beliefs and practices, at the cost of being declared a heretic, the one for whom hell is waiting, etc.

We must, we must, we must, look inward and analyze as to what has happend to us Muslims over the years. Why have we been totally Arabized and become sattelites of arab thoughts and culture? We must ask questions about the life style of the prophet of Islam? We must ask the question that if the god of islam is all knowing, then how the hell could he/it allow 50% of the muslim population (women) to live in seclusion and not participate in any valuable development of their countries? If the god of islam is all knowing, didn't he know that the words uttered in the quran would be used by certain people to denegrade the name of islam to advance their own agendas? How come the prophet did not allow his wives to remarry after his death when he himself was marrying left right and center before he died? Why was Ayesha, his most favorite wife, was only 23 years old when she became a widow, not allowed to get married and have a family after he died? How did he marry the wife of his adopted son! Which god, especially the all pious god of islam, would allow this fornication!!!

Wake up Muslims, wake up!!

I am a muslim, because I must have some faith to hang on to, but I am not a muslim that mohammad envisioned.
