It really irritates me when people carefully select `passages` from religious texts to convey a particular point.

Most religions, and in particular islam are a simple control mechanism for massive numbers of people, largely uneducated, living in poverty with little else to focus on. The `texts` are basically devised to cover `most` situations followers will encounter, and this in itself is not a bad thing but, apply human nature with all its` annomalies and we end up with a diverse hotchpotch which is at best is a harmless and inappropriate hypocracy and worst an evil regime based on murder, corruption & fear.

The thing that amazes me is the blind, unquestioning belief these poor fools have, the definite knowledge that they are right and every non believer is wrong.....basically islam has no place in an intellegent & civilised society but until the world wakes up to what is happening I fear the murder & corruption `in the name of God` will continue as it has for hundreds of years.
