Reader comment on item: Mosque in Cordoba, Church in Damascus

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Dec 29, 2006 at 04:30

In places where Muslim armies conqured and ruled, hundreds of churches have been converted into mosques. For example in Northern cyprus, which the Turks ruled and still rule, many of the best churches have been converted into mosques, which was simply done by stripping the church of all christian symbols and adding a mihrab to it. There is no outer damage to the building itslef. So, it will be easy in many of these ex-churches to become churches once again.

In the present day Pakistan hundreds of Hindu temples have been destroyed or vandalised . Muslims should also think of handing back to Hindus the temples and temple properties in Pakistan.
