Reader comment on item: Polls, Palestinians and the Path to Peace

Submitted by Rory Ward (United States), Feb 20, 2003 at 12:16

The question is, without the involvement of the left how would this "conflict" look? They infiltrate all sides, every organization, and spread lies, deception, and corruption. Neither side is as evil as Israel (or the U.S.) in the Left's carricature. The Nazis weren't that evil. Otherwise, there would be no Palestinians.

But the lies are just thin cover for the intimidation and strong-arm tactics behind the scenes. So thin, as your polls show, that the saturation broadcasting of them to Americans doesn't fool many. But once the lies are published and the phony news stories are running, the deal is done - key players are already on the pad, and the plan moves inexorably forward. That's why the Left doesn't need much of a case to win.
