Reader comment on item: Israel Shuns Victory
in response to reader comment: it's not really their 'home'

"If it were not for the US and Europe intervening every time the Jews were about to win the war would have ended in 1949, the Arabs East of the Jordan, the Jews West, and the world's deepest rift in between!! As for the billions, please, please withold them, from the arabs and jews. Free of strings, things might be settled forthwith."

the jews couldn't take any more land because they can't hold what they have. Lebanon or the golan heights included[comprimises, treaties etc]. Yes, the money is what makes the US the only ally [willing to go to the mat for] in the world to Israel. The UN reps go back to their countries and wish they could get that aid 'per capita' for their peoples, for dozens of years - and it makes them all very bitter. And very vindictive. Just honestly speaking here

"As for the Home issue. It is the one and only home for the Jews. It was never home for the Arabs, I suggest you read "the innocents abroad" by Mark Twain to see the decrepitude of the land under Arab and Turkish sway. Only when Jews resettled the land and made it the flower of the Levant did the Arabs rear up and demand it. The Jews shun victory because the only way to win is to move the Arabs out. Are you willing to take them in?"

it was still their home - no matter decrepit it was/is. Who cares what land/home improvements can be made with billions of dollars flowing in each year from foreign tax-payers. As I said above, many countries and myself included can do wonders with that kind of charity.

as DP says 'shunning victory' won't move them out. Dream ends...

All said. Good debate never hurts anyone. cheers
