Hamas victory

Reader comment on item: Don't deal with terrorists

Submitted by Vinodgupt (United States), Jan 26, 2006 at 11:32

Hamas has won the elections in Palestine and many are upset. I really fail to see the reason. Hamas has declared they will rule in accordance with the Koran. Everyone who matters, including President Bush, has declared that Islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion.

The Koran is a Book written by Merciful and Benevolent Allah and "revealed" to Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) through His angel Gabriel. Thus by sheer logic Hamas rule, since it will in accordance with the Holy Koran, can only be Peaceful and Tolerant. We have the example of Saudi Arabia -- our nations long term ally where the Koran is the constitution -- how peaceful and tolerant that nation is with complete freedom of religion, thought, expression -- you name it.

Some people are never happy and just like to complain.
