Moderation such as some ascribe to candidates for office only comes when the polity is presumably and accurately moderate and middle of the road. As the brainwashed fervor of the mass of Arabic-speaking people is one of unalloyed hatred for its avowed 'enemies'--the US and Israel, infidels in general and anything veering from Orthodoxies observed--the candidates would not likely devolve to the 'pothole' comforts of American pretenders to office. The people expect that perfervid violence from terror ascribers in their promises for office. Only Iran (not a Muslim crowd) seems to have a polity that is not aligned with the monomanias of their 'leaders.'
