Reader comment on item: [After Sharon:] Israeli Politics Will Revert to Its Past

Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Jan 5, 2006 at 12:30

Admittedly this is thinking outside of the box, but I am convinced that if we perpetuate the status quo, we will be distancing ourselves from what would help us mightily.

What Mr. Pipes wrote about regarding the two German politicians and what Muslims have to do in their country can be applied to the PA.

As long as those attributes are deliberately excluded from Israeli-Arab discourse, we will only generate more scar tissue upon those souls who frankly deserve better in the greater Mid East.

No acceptance by the Muslims on where the Israelis are coming from would result in no concessions by the Israelis.

So, if the current batch of negotiators refuse to do that on behalf of the PA, then targeted killings
of those who say " death to the infidel" will have to continue until such time as those who are willing to abide by what makes the West, the West - until they are safe, lest they wind up like Anwar Sadat.
