Don't Worry, Be Happy

Reader comment on item: More Converts to Terrorism

Submitted by Aaron (United States), Dec 7, 2005 at 18:10

Most react to the phenomenon of western jihadis negatively, but I tend to disagree. Now that Westerners are considered an in-demand item by terrorist organizations, it should be easier to infiltrate these same organizations. All we need to do is place agents in strategic locations to go about their lives and wait to be proselytized, converted, radicalized, and recruited.

Similarly, we could offer inmates a reduced sentence contingent on their providing useful intelligence. Instead of despairing, we need to take advantage of this critical opportunity.

Why do I get the feeling that we won't?
