Dear Prashant,

I don't think you fully appreciated how the Crown of the United Kingdom evolved during the reign, for 70 years, of Queen Elizabeth II.

When Charles III was merely the Prince of Wales, his every move was carefully watched by his mother, the Queen. Anything he did wrong, she would immediately tell him off. So you first complaint about the suitcase should go to the Queen.

However the Reign Queen would meet every week, or weekly, with the Prime Minister, the Head of Government. It is the Prime Minister who would tell the queen for her son to returned the suitcase to Qatar with all its money. If that did not happen, it can only mean is the the Government of the United Kingdom.

In summary, any public act of any member of the Royal Family is deemed, effectively, a diplomatic act when dealing with foreigners. So Prince Charles graciously accepted to generous gift of Qatar. Did the Prime Minister mind? Obviously not. Or was there a public scandal you know of, Prashant?

If Qatar gave such a suitcase to Trump he would simply be required to turn it over to the Treasury Department. Do you know what subsequently happened to the money Charles received?
