"...The spread of the two haplogroups makes it likely that Adam was of the J1 stock; and that people of the J2 (and probably some of J1 as well) were survivors from pre-flood times."
So Adam was most likely one of those Mediterranean types.

"...That's comical. "Evolution" generally refers to processes that happened over millions of years.......I am a "Paleoconservative", though, which, I suppose, attests to some antiquity..."

You might have guessed I was using it to mean 'developed' - which is what happens when things evolve anyway - slightly different semantics.

"...I imagine that the Islamic idea of "pure of heart" is a suicide bomber.
Nothing loving or self-aware about a suicide bomber. They are more aptly described as having a bloody-minded single focus.

"...You are correct, that the kingdom of God is within us -- which is to say, in our spirits. Our spirits can be either pure, or corrupted by sin..."
Agree

Our spirits are like water, or blood. They're easily polluted by earthly, carnal desires, just as our blood gets infected from viruses. So, how does one get a "pure heart" out of all this? He can't get rid of his blood,
No need to get rid of the blood - it is not the problem. The problem is lack of awareness, ignorance, mental defilements as they are sometimes called.

the religious equivalent being "emptying the mind" through meditation and such like.
When the mind is still, you glimpse reality.

"...It is true, that we not only have to BE enlightened; but we have to continually LIVE in enlightenment
Absolutely. Otherwise we are not valuing or truly appreciating our own lives.

Do Muslims receive this teaching? No, they reject it; in fact, they reject all of Torah, saying it was changed and corrupted by the Jews.

Not just the Torah - they totally twist and bastardise the New Testament into something it clearly is not. e.g.Jesus will return to stand behind the 7th century bedouin pedophile - and 'smash the cross' etc etc The mental contortions they go through to prove how right their koran is is quite comical.

And I thought Mormons were 'out there' before I read the koran - well, about a 1/10 of it. It was clear after the first few pages what a twisted tale of ignorance it was. Which reminds me - despite all their BS no moslem has yet re-written the Bible to point out where all the 'errors' are that all the so-called deluded Jews and Christians believe ! Challenge any moslem on that to see if they up to the task.

They don't even believe in a person "God", much less the God of Torah
Buddhists sort of do - http://www.adishakti.org/forum/the_light_buddhism_12-21-2006.htm
