Iranian treaty is the 21st century version of 'Sulah Hudaybiyyah'

Reader comment on item: The Geneva Agreement with Iran: A Foreign Policy Disaster
in response to reader comment: Nov. 4 Geneva agreement gives time--to who?

Dear Dr Pipes,

Reader Richard Stoecker is very right in his observation that the treay with Iran gives Iran more time to creae the worst-case scenario. This is the 21st century version 'Sula Hudaybiyyah'. The entire Islamic world is against Israel. Most of it is also anti-America. Will this treaty change any hearts? Does the Iranian leadership even want to chaneg any heart?

As long as the rhetorics 'Islam is the best religion and only truth' and 'one day the entire world will become Islamic' exist, every treaty is Sulah Hudaybiyyah.
