The black-and-white photo reveals the misunderstanding between the partners in the München agreement. The difference in clothing points to the different nature of the actors. Britain and France dressed all black, tradtionally striped, appear as 19th-century diplomats from another time. Hitler and Mussolini stand out in light color.

Their visual appearance by itself illustrates the mindset of the fascist camp. I associate the uniform-like jackets with military, the party symbols wih ideology, Hitler sporting his Iron-Cross suggests war.
