Mosque near ground zero

Reader comment on item: Reflections on an Islamic Center in Lower Manhattan

Submitted by ed margulies (United States), Aug 18, 2010 at 22:55

Mr. Pipes,

I'd like to tell you how I feel about the proposed mosque at ground zero. I am fundamentally opposed to it unless those who will occupy it and preach from its pulpit say two things, and mean them: that they are fundamentally pro-American and that they are against the horror of suicide bombings, wherever they are being used around the world. Then I will have some reason to accept that this proposed mosque and those who worship there are practicing a "religion of peace".
