What is growing? Popularity or Population of Islam?

Reader comment on item: U.K. Muslim Population Surges
in response to reader comment: My Wordsz On Islams Population Increase x

You are being swept away by your zeal! Muslim population world over may be increasing. That happens as Muslims have been making more babies than others. That does not necessarily mean that Islam is becoming more popular world over. Even Muslim babies don't know that they are Muslims! How many grown ups and well educated persons have embraced Islam voluntarily? Any statistics are available to support your zealous proclamation? Don't mistake growth in population for growth in popularity.
