Decline of the West

Reader comment on item: U.K. Muslim Population Surges
in response to reader comment: A Lament for the English

The west may well be in decline but if Islam replaces it the world faces an overall decline in its technological, social, health and wealth. Islam is not at the cutting edge of scientific and social advance. There is not Islamic country - other than Idonesia (and they gained by importing technology invented and proved in the west).

If the dynamism of the west disappears, the planet and humanity will suffer as we head into a new dark ages. The only solution is for Islam to reform and revise itself; or for some Islamic countries and societies to reform without the rest so that they set an example that the rest would wish to follow.

If the future is Green (Islam), then the world has to consider the real consequences. In the past societies did not go down without a literal fight (Romans, Greeks, etc). I am not advocating violence but I do advocate fighting politically, socially and legally for what is good and worthy about our societies. We also have a right to defend what we have decided is appropriate for us. If there is direct and physical risk to our societies we should also make sure we have the means to defend it if others offer us violence in an attempt to overpower us. The western political-social-nihilists are trying to remove even that option too.
