Reader comment on item: Obama's Connection to Sirhan Sirhan

Submitted by Dennis Graves (United States), Nov 3, 2008 at 12:13

The article concludes by noting:

"In this context, yet another connection, documented at zombietime.com, may not come as a great surprise, but it nonetheless remains shocking: William Ayers, Obama's close associate at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, dedicated the 1974 terrorist manifesto he co-authored, Prairie Fire: The Politics of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialism, to (among others) Sirhan Sirhan, Robert F. Kennedy's Jordanian assassin."

It is a real stretch to characterize Obama as being a "close associate" of Ayers, but it is simply beyond the pale to then attempt to bootstrap Ayers' book dedication to Sirhan Sirhan as a "connection to Sirhan Sirhan". Incidentally, one must wonder what kind of source zombietime.com might be.

Such strained, unfair interpretations are counterproductive to trying to convince thoughtful, fair-minded people.
