Support of Israel

Reader comment on item: Who Supports Israel[, Jews or Conservatives]?

Submitted by Jeanne Zanger (United States), Sep 8, 2003 at 17:07

Dear Mr. Pipes,
I notice that you spent a good deal of paragraphs dwelling on the lack of support Israel is receiving throughout the world, and mention very few, in particular, Tom DeLay, supporting the State.

As is evident not one of these opposing the policies of the State live in Israel.

May I ask what right do these people have to oppose the wall, or any other tactics Israel uses in defense of their lives and nation, and in protection against the wholesale slaughter they are experiencing. Are the bombs falling on their heads, in Canada, England, France, the U.S. and other states.

When our own nation was terrorized on Sept ll,2001, we rightly lost no time to fight back with all the amour we had. After all Israelis have offered for the implemention of the Road Map, they are still dreaded victims of their terrorist organization. What recourse do Israelis now have, particularly since Abbas resignation, and the restoration of Arafat authority. Where, oh where has our reasoning gone! Jeanne
