Fouad Ajami

Reader comment on item: Who Supports Israel[, Jews or Conservatives]?

Submitted by Johnathan R. Galt (United States), Sep 3, 2003 at 16:23

"The Nation magazine called on a leftist Jew (Andrew N.
Rubin) to savage a book by a conservative Muslim (Fouad Ajami) for
being too friendly to Israel".

I find Fouad Ajami to be be one of the few intellectually honest (not
to mention most brilliant) Muslim writers. He has convinced me that
the phrase "Muslim intellectual" is not an oxymoron.

Can you recommend others like him?
