Life is a competiton. And there are those who wish to just observe like couch potatoes watching TV as it goes by. Per capita Israelis have far surpassed practically all of the Muslim Nations combined -- just look at who for example are the Nobel prize winners -- and why should that be, Muslims may ask? Study? Hard work? Reform? Question everything, assume nothing? Or how about being decent and open? And how dare America show the world the way when the chosen ones were supposed to be the believers of Islam. Praying five times a day or more may be an answer and desire to go back to the old ways when the infidels were dhimmis. Frankly, from all I have read and observed it's a jealous ideology that has yet to comprehend modernity. However, Daniel Pipes is being much more fair than I. ... Mr. Pipes thinks there are enough moderates who will overcome the clerics and one or two beneficent despots. I wonder if they would all take a lie detector test? What would truly be the results?Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
