Reasoned thought such as Mr. Haqqani's seems all too rare in Muslim public statements. I hope that there is, indeed, a "silent majority" among Muslims who hold to similar rational thought processes. If not, violent death struggle seems inevitable between their and our cultures. In their macho posturing of hatred towards western culture, radical islamists show their own ignorance of the West's will to win. I believe my feelings are shared by many of my fellows: I will gladly see every radical man, woman, and child of the islamists dead before I see any furthur significant harm come to our interests. I believe they are ignorant of both our will and our ability to make this happen.
