Doctor Pipes and the Jyllands- Posten
Reader comment on item: Department of Corrections (of Others' Factual Mistakes about Me)

I am no neo-conservative and I often disagree with what Doctor Pipes has to say. But, that is the good thing about this web-site and that is why I love it: you don't have to agree with what Doctor Pipes says. The Jyllands- Posten is not related to Pipes at all.

There is a tradition of freedom of expression in Denmark, which is not shared by the Muslim world. Of course, those cartoons were offensive, but they still had to be published. The anti-cartoon riots occurred, because we have been too tolerant and too liberal, and Denmark has been more tolerant than the rest of us. You may disagree with Pipes and his support for Israel and neo-conservatism; I disagree with neo-conservatism. But, the Jyllands- Posten affair is not related to Pipes. To tell you the truth, I search this web-site for articles about Europe, because no European explains things as well as Pipes.
