The Arab's war with Israel is not a war of territory but of ideas and is part of the greater jihad being conducted by Islam worldwide.
At times, because of general pressure on the Arabs, this war may abate but is not going to go away, so long as their are significant Muslim populations in the West and the US in particular. The reasons for this are plain by now; for Muslim populations in the West, identify with Islam rather then Western values. They are thus duty bound to offer political and other support to Muslims in conflict with non-Muslims. With time, this will make it increasingly difficult for the US to render support to Israel.
For the safety of a Western state such as Israel and the West as a whole, the anti-jihad war has to start at home rather then in far flung corners of the globe.
