profiling makes sense

Reader comment on item: Time to Profile Airline Passengers?

Submitted by catlover (United Kingdom), Aug 28, 2006 at 10:23

The whole point is that Islamists will not just be able to start using hordes of non-Arab, non-Asian converts for terrorist attacks, just as the IRA couldn't find lots of English people for the cause. Yes there will be some, but still the majority will be from certain ethnicities. People will say this will alienate the Muslim majority and worsen the situation - will it? When I hear the comments in the UK from Muslim communities about the 7/7 bombers I don't think it will make much difference!
