Reader comment on item: Time to Profile Airline Passengers?

Submitted by Jodi (United Kingdom), May 10, 2007 at 19:42

I am just wondering how many of you on here even have any idea about what profiling is and what it entails, and I dont mean what you have learnt from hollywood movies, and television. I agree that we need to improve security against terrorism, not just the islamic version of it but all terrorism, but what we would be doing if we implemented this in airports is not any scientific form of profiling, but we would be simply lumping all Muslims, and all who look Muslim, or have Arabic sounding names into one group and labeling them suspected terrorists. I dont say this from a PC point of view if you want to implement specific checks for Muslims then do so, but call it what it is.
