Reader comment on item: West Africa - Europe's New Border
in response to reader comment: immigration

Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), May 26, 2006 at 19:20

Yes, you have got it Bob Grayson! It is nothing to do with tolerance, diversity or multi-culturalism. It is all to do with economic interests. Europe needs oil from the Muslim world, and that is why we allow them to come over here, without asking too many questions. Then, we need cheap labour. Mexamerica is based on, more or less, the same concepts. American companies have interests in Mexico; furthermore, Latinos become cheap labour in the USA. It has never had anything to do with racial tolerance. Europe and Britain see Muslim immigrants as easy to exploit. The media is in favour of open-borders. Politicians and business people are pro open-borders. The European Union is pro open borders. NAFTA is about open borders. West Africa is Europe's new border. It is really a non-border. Cheap labour, economic agreements, oil and raw materials: that is what lies behind the open-borders policy. Forget about diversity and multi-culturalism. That is just rhetoric. In Europe, Le Monde supports open-borders; in the USA, it is the Wall Street Journal. These people want cheap labour to exploit as slaves. They want to be able to exploit the Third World, empty out their countries, take their oil and resources. And dump all their poor here, in the West.
