How to resolve the war
Reader comment on item: The Palestinian-Israeli War: Where It Came From, and How to End It

Submitted by Jane (United States), Apr 1, 2006 at 11:07

When reading this article, a strong vision appeared...the moment of the handshake with Clinton's wretched smile; a second vision a moment later...that of Dennis Ross, throwing bull at his own people, incessantly. It did not take genius to figure that Yassir was lying through his remaining teeth.

What continues to fascinate and hurt so deeply is the misunderstanding of the leftist Jews...do they really want Israel gone. What would that achieve for them.

The question of Israel's right to exist is moot, and should ALWAYS be considered so.

You are so thoroughly, completely correct when you note that Israeli weakness begets the enemy strength. Why is this so hard to see, for so many.

What will truly win this war is a greater concern for Israel's humilliation on the world stage; Israeli's dignity...never mind the Palestinians (as if there really are such a people. Note that when Jordan threw out it's own people, these so called palestenians, the world did not say boo. How about Israel going for the same goal, and telling the world, to quote an old song "We are strong, we are invincible...

Who was asking the questions you took in San Francisco. They certainly did their best to rake you over the coals. Good thing you are much more than an historian; you are a person you can hold his temper in check and are the best diplomat we have.

Nu, when will you go to Israel and become the leader we need so very much?

Regards,
Jane
