Israel's Self destructive Government and World opionionReader comment on item: The Palestinian-Israeli War: Where It Came From, and How to End It Submitted by Sam Goldberg (Canada), Feb 15, 2008 at 02:58 I really cannot add to much to what has already said. However I would like to point that Israel's problem is that if they think they need the U.S. support in the form of the dangling loan guarantee's is a huge mistake, for I believe this is calm before the storm. I think if Israel makes any concession's that is demanded of her with the belief that America will bale her out Militarily, especially if Demacrats are in the White House, they are setting themselves up for a major disappointment. Today there are no more Soviet client states, and with U.S dependent on imported Middle east oil from weak Arab gorvernments at around $100.00 per barrel, and no direct threat to American soil, Israel may find themselves completely on their own. What's required now is strong retaliation to any acts of terrorisim starting with the possible execution of prisoners until they release all the Israeli soldiers if they are alive. Carpet bombing of Gaza neighbourhoods where missiles are being fired from without any advance warning. This type of actions are what's called for now. Then the negotiations for the Road Map can start. Sam from Canada Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
